Which applications can use Sassoon fonts?

Answer:
Sassoon fonts have OpenType 'features' built into them. In order to use these features, the application you use must support these OpenType features:

Contextual Alternates feature in your application allows basic 'default' joins in fonts such as:
Sassoon Joined, Sassoon Linked, Sassoon Pen etc.

Stylistic Alternates feature (together with the 'Contextual Alternates' feature) in your application, allows access to many alternative 'Sets' of letters in the joining fonts and separate letter fonts, for example:
Sassoon Joined, Sassoon Linked, Sassoon Pen etc.
Sassoon Infant, Sassoon Primary, Sassoon Sans etc.

NOTE: An application that supports OpenType features on one platform, Mac OS for example, may not support it in Windows. Here are some examples:

Windows OS

Microsoft 'Word' (2010 or later) has the two 'features' required to use all Sassoon fonts. There are several editions of Word; Government, Education, Non-Profit and Home.

Serif 'PagePlus' has the two 'features' required to use all Sassoon fonts.

Apache 'OpenOffice' - no Windows versions support OpenType.

Mac OS

Microsoft 'Word' (2011 or later) has the two 'features' required to use all Sassoon fonts.

Serif 'PagePlus' - there is no Mac OS version.

Apache 'OpenOffice' (4.0.1) has support for OpenType fonts feature called 'Contextual Alternates'. This provides basic 'default' joins when joining fonts are used. There is no support for Stylistic Alternates (Sets) that are required to use the separate letter fonts such as Sassoon Infant.

TextEdit, that comes as part of the Operating System with Macintosh's supports all features of Sassoon fonts.

Many high-end Page Layout/Publishing applications support OpenType fonts such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop Quark XPress. View the list of supported features in these applications...
